President of India Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to attend the first convocation ceremony of the Central Tribal University in Visakhapatnam on 10 June. In preparation for the high-profile event, Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand convened a review meeting on Friday with officials from various departments to oversee the arrangements.
According to the preliminary itinerary, President Murmu will arrive in Visakhapatnam by air at 11:30 a.m., attend the convocation until 3:00 p.m., and depart for her Jharkhand tour at 3:20 p.m. The Chief Secretary directed all departments concerned to ensure that arrangements strictly follow established protocol.
Vijayanand also instructed Central Tribal University Vice-Chancellor T.V. Kattimani, who joined the meeting virtually, to submit a detailed schedule of the President’s visit — including a minute-by-minute programme, stage arrangements, and backdrop design — for approval by the President’s Office.
He emphasised the need for coordinated efforts from all state departments to ensure the event’s success. Senior officials including Special Chief Secretary (Health) M.T. Krishna Babu, Principal Secretary (GAD) Mukesh Kumar Meena, IT Secretary K. Bhaskar, Medical and Health Commissioner Veerapandian, I&PR Director Himanshu Shukla, and AYUSH Director Dinesh Kumar attended the meeting.
Director General of Police Harish Kumar Gupta, Visakhapatnam District Collector Harindra Prasad, and other key officials also participated virtually to discuss logistics, security, and protocol arrangements for the President’s visit.
