Amid a rise in COVID-19 cases across the country, Andhra Pradesh Minister for Housing and Information & Public Relations, Kolusu Parthasaradhi, has appealed to the public to stay vigilant and adhere to safety protocols.
Addressing the media in Nuzvid, the Minister urged people to avoid large gatherings and strictly follow COVID guidelines at crowded public places like railway stations, bus stands, and airports. He underlined the importance of wearing face masks and maintaining social distancing in such areas.
Minister Parthasaradhi advised elderly persons and pregnant women to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary. He also recommended mandatory COVID testing for individuals arriving from abroad.
He directed health officials to ensure the availability of PPE kits and masks, and to remain on high alert. He asked the government machinery to be fully prepared to tackle any fresh outbreaks and to ensure that government hospitals are equipped to deliver quality treatment.
The Minister emphasised the need for coordinated efforts at village and mandal levels to raise awareness. Local officials were urged to actively educate the public and enforce safety protocols. Field-level surveillance and comprehensive health screenings should also be taken up as part of the preventive measures.
“By wearing masks and taking proper precautions, we can collectively overcome the threat of COVID,” he said.
