Australia keen to support AP’s green energy skill drive

Australian Consulate General representatives Silai Zaki and Deputy Consul General David Eggleston met Andhra Pradesh Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar at his camp office in Tadepalli on Tuesday. The discussions centred on exploring collaborative opportunities in the renewable energy sector, with a particular focus on skill development in solar and green energy technologies.

Minister Ravi Kumar highlighted the importance that the coalition government, led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, places on the development and promotion of renewable energy in the state.

He reiterated the government’s commitment to tapping Andhra Pradesh’s vast potential in green energy.

The Australian delegates expressed satisfaction with the interaction and conveyed their interest in partnering with the state government to advance the renewable energy sector. They discussed structured plans for joint training initiatives, especially in solar energy, and the potential for skill development.

The Consul General assured the Minister of Australia’s support in providing training programmes, particularly targeting women and youth in tribal areas of the state.

The delegation also proposed a joint action plan to enhance employability through capacity-building programmes in the renewable sector.
