Vijayawada: YSRCP strongly condemned the arrest of senior journalist Kommineni Srinivasa Rao, calling it a grave assault on democracy. Party State Coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy alleged that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is sending a chilling message—fall in line or face consequences. He said the anchor had cautioned analyst Krishnam Raju during the debate and did not endorse the remark, yet TDP leaders, including Naidu and Pawan Kalyan, orchestrated a media campaign, culminating in Kommineni’s arrest. Despite Sakshi distancing itself from the analyst’s view, the narrative was deliberately prolonged to target the YSRCP and divert attention from the government’s failures. Sajjala warned this was dangerous politics aimed at silencing dissent and demanded civil society raise its voice.
