The ruling Congress and the BJP are competing with each other in organising public grievances redressal programmes at their party headquarters in Hyderabad.

The Congress has been conducting a ‘Face–to-Face with Ministers’ programme every week at the Gandhi Bhavan apart from the state government’s Prajavani held at the Praja Bhavan.

Moreover, the Congress is also going to launch another programme at the Gandhi Bhavan from 10 am to 1 pm from June 10. In this programme, two public representatives would be available at the Gandhi Bhavan, and they will try to make the government solve the public’s problems.

In future, MPs, MLAs, MLCs and other public representatives will be available at the Gandhi Bhavan daily.

On the first day, that is, Tuesday, Waqf Board Chairman Sayyad Azmathullah and Agro Industries Development Corporation Chairman Kasula Balaraju would attend the programme.

Meanwhile, the BJP has launched the ‘BJP Bharosa’ programme at its state office to address the grievances of people from June 2 with its Malkajgiri MP, Eatala Rajender, copying Congress programmes, saying, “The BJP has launched ‘BJP Bharosa’ to reassure people facing hardships under the incompetent rule of the Congress.”

As per this programme, all BJP public MPs, MLAs and MLCs will be available to the public at the state BJP office every day, and they will try to understand people’s problems and solve them.

The programme was halted on Saturday and Sunday. However, on Monday, the BJP OBC Morcha President Rajya Sabha Member Dr K. Laxman, attended the programme from 11.30 am to 3.30 pm. About 200 people from across the state met Laxman and raised several issues with him.

Laxman is available to the people as part of the ‘BJP Bharosa.’ Seeing many people coming from all over the state every day to raise their problems, he said that it reflects the way Congress cheated the public through false promises.

Like Congress Ministers at the ‘Face-to-Face with Minister’ programme at the Gandhi Bhavan, Laxman too tried to solve their problems on the spot by calling Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, four Collectors, the water works MD and GHMC officials.
