BRS blocking industrial growth, job creation: Sridhar

Industries and IT Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu launched a sharp attack on the BRS, accusing it of deliberately blocking the state’s industrial progress out of political insecurity.

In a sharp statement released on Wednesday, Sridhar said the BRS was actively working to block the creation of jobs and to derail Telangana’s development.

“It’s evident that the BRS doesn’t want industries to succeed in Telangana. They are wilfully trying to sabotage job creation,” he said.

Sridhar cited the Congress Government’s record over the last 18 months, claiming that new investments of Rs 3 lakh crore have already generated 1.5 lakh direct jobs, with another
one lakh indirectly benefiting.

He said the BRS was unsettled by this progress, fearing that the successful implementation of industrial projects would render them politically irrelevant. “They are inciting farmers and creating unrest. The government will not tolerate attempts to disturb public order,” Sridhar warned.

He reiterated that Telangana is fast becoming the favoured destination for industry under the Revanth-led administration.

“Earlier, the lack of skilled manpower was a deterrent. But now, with the Young India Skills University and district-level skill centres, we are bridging the gap between education and employment,” he said.

Recalling the Congress’s conduct while in opposition, Sridhar said, “We never opposed development. We supported every move that benefited Telangana. But the BRS, desperate to stay relevant, is engaging in disruptive politics.”

He also addressed the controversy surrounding the ethanol plant in the Peddadhandwada village of Jogulamba Gadwal district.

“The Centre has mandated 20% ethanol blending by 2025-26. The factory is in line with national policy. All permissions were issued by the Centre, and the company purchased the land legally. There was no forcible land acquisition by the government,” he clarified.

Sridhar asserted that the ethanol project would boost local employment. “If the BRS continues to oppose such initiatives, people will not forgive them. No party can survive by blocking progress,” he concluded.
