Producer Dil Raju is introducing a new approach to film marketing with his upcoming release Thammudu. After releasing the trailer on YouTube, he instructed his PR team not to manipulate view counts. “I wanted to see the actual number of views. From now on, I will start this new trend,” said Dil Raju, stressing that many online views are artificially boosted. “Everyone knows about these fake views. From now, I want to see how many real people have watched the trailer.”
He also revealed that both director Venu Sriram and actor Nithiin have not taken their remunerations for the film. “This film requires heavy VFX and technical work, and therefore a high budget. When I explained the financials to them, both responded positively and asked to be paid after the film’s release,” Dil Raju said.
When asked if he plans to follow the same model in the future, he said, “Yes. In the past, top stars like NTR, Prabhas, Mahesh Babu, and Pawan Kalyan supported me when I discussed film economics with them. If you honestly communicate with your lead actors, they will support you. But today, many producers lack patience — they hurry to launch a project fearing that someone else might grab it.”
