In an exclusive chat with The Pioneer, husband-wife duo Anuradha and Aashutosh Bhandari , founders of TheReelMaker.BTS (aka The Goofy Ones), reveal how a single baby video request sparked the birth of a new age in candid wedding storytelling. From turning emotional moments into viral reels to juggling back-to-back weddings—even through a pregnancy—the duo has built more than just a brand

Client satisfaction comes first. That’s why people know us. It’s about quality and the happiness on their face after the wedding

Even before “reel makers” and “wedding content creators” became industry buzzwords, Anuradha and Ashutosh Bhandari, the husband-wife duo behind TheReelMaker.BTS (aka thegoofyones on Instagram), were already living the trend. Not only did they ride the wave, they built it from the ground up. Their journey started not with a grand plan but with a simple cradle ceremony — and the rest, as they say, became viral history.
In an exclusive conversation with The Pioneer, the Hyderabad-based viral creators walked us through their incredible journey — from a baby photoshoot studio to becoming one of the most in-demand creators for weddings, known for their raw, real, and emotionally-charged reels.
It all began when a client at their baby shoot studio requested a portrait-format video of a cradle ceremony — something that could be shared easily on Facebook or WhatsApp. The idea clicked. “At the moment, I told him we hadn’t done this before,” recalls Anuradha “But after covering the ceremony, on July 2nd, 2023, we realised — we are content creators, so why not shoot people’s big days? Everyone wants this. You wait six months for photos and videos from official photographers and by then, the charm is gone. That’s it. TheReelMaker.BTS was born that very day.”
Known for capturing the soul of weddings — the chaos, colour, emotions, and all — they’ve become pros at documenting every moment, phones in hand from dawn till the final dance. From emotional hugs to impromptu dance moves, nothing escapes their lens.
And dedication? They’ve redefined it. “I was pregnant in 2023, in October. Our boom began in December. I worked until my ninth month. Eventually, my family had to step in and tell me to stop because my due date was close.” That same passion continues to fuel their momentum even today.
Of course, navigating wedding sets with official photographers and videographers isn’t always smooth. “We always meet them before the event, explain what we do, and assure them we won’t get in their frame — and they shouldn’t get in ours. 9 out of 10 times, it’s absolutely fine. That one time? We manage that too,” the duo say with a smile.
The duo has become so synonymous with wedding magic that clients insist on having both of them present. “Everyone calls us ‘the power couple in action.’ Clients know when we’re together, there’s something special happening.”
But no two clients are alike. TheReelMakers.BTS tailors every shot to each couple’s vibe. “Some couples want candid moments. Others prefer conceptual, planned reels. We personalise it all.”
While they’ve worked with over 50 couples, the most unpredictable element often is the couple themselves. “Some say they want all kinds of content, but then during the wedding, they don’t have time. And we understand — it’s their big day. But 10 days later, they ask, ‘Where’s our content?’” Ashutosh laughs.
Working through intense schedules and emotional highs isn’t easy. “We’ve had sleepless nights, 24- to 48-hour shifts — from 7 AM to 11 AM the next day. And moments like the bidaayi always get to me. I can’t help but think about my own wedding,” adds Anuradha.
Still, through all the exhaustion, their strength comes from their biggest joy — their baby. “Whenever I feel like I can’t take another step, I video call him. Just seeing his face brings all my energy back,” Anuradha says with a warm smile.
And while social media has glamorised weddings, it’s also brought unrealistic expectations. “People want the viral trend, the perfect aesthetic, a whole team working day and night — but they don’t want to pay accordingly. For us, money comes later. Client satisfaction comes first. That’s why people know us. It’s about quality and the happiness on their face after the wedding.”
When clients or family members are camera-shy, Ashutosh has a knack for melting the tension. “I don’t know how it works, but the moment Ashutosh picks up the camera, people are suddenly ready to pose (she laughs).”
Their reels are often viral hits — and there’s no secret sauce, they say, except for one thing: real emotions. “We never fake anything. The candid moments are always truly candid.”
Their growth? All word of mouth. “It’s the couples and their families. They make us feel like family. We’ve had brides asking if we’ve eaten from the phera mandap. They take care of us as much as we do them.”
