Powering up!

Must read

Have you ever thought about how amazing it would be to harness the power of the sun for your home or business? With renewable energy being both commercially viable and environmentally responsible, it’s a win-win situation! India’s distributed solar market is huge and it’s incredible how it can benefit residential, commercial and industrial users alike.

That’s where Oorjan comes in – they’re offering hassle-free turn-key solar solutions that include top-notch hardware, expert engineering, easy financing options and even post-adoption care. It’s all about making solar energy accessible and affordable for everyone. By choosing rooftop solar solutions, you can save money and do your part for the environment.

What’s even more exciting is that it is one of India’s fastest-growing platforms in the renewable energy space. They’re truly pioneering the way for a cleaner, greener future. So, if you’re looking to go green and save some bucks, it might just be the perfect partner for you, in the words of Gautam Das, Founder & CEO of Oorjan Cleantech.

Could you elaborate on your business-focused expansion plan?

It has been a successful business since its founding, expanding naturally through strong word-of-mouth and a cascade of client recommendations. The expansion approach is based on a two-pronged business model: First, we provide comprehensive ground-mounted and rooftop solar systems to commercial, industrial and housing society clients. Second, by offering crucial hardware and financial support, we enable EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) players. We can scale sustainably with this strategy while upholding the customer-first philosophy. It also fits with our long-term goal of democratising the use of solar energy in India by increasing its efficiency and accessibility through a strong network of partnerships.

In light of growing B2B usage, how has the growth changed year over year in terms of installations, revenue and geographic reach?

In response, it has put more than 250 MW of installed capacity into service and served over 5,000 customers in more than 22 states and Union Territories over the years. This extensive reach is evidence of our steady growth trajectory. As a one-stop shop for EPCs, providing both hardware and financing, we have improved our value proposition in the B2B market. We can swiftly get DCR (Domestic Content Requirement) and Non-DCR solar panels, as well as other essential components, in large quantities because to our solid manufacturing partnerships. This facilitates the efficient resolution of procurement issues and expedites the implementation of solar projects, particularly in industrial areas with high demand.

What partnerships or innovations has it implemented to bolster its position in the commercial and industrial sectors, given the increasing demand for renewable energy?

It has formed strategic alliances with financial institutions and leading producers of solar panels, inverters, batteries and cables in order to satisfy the changing demands of the commercial and industrial (C&I) sectors. Additionally, we provide access to state-of-the-art technologies such as flexible, bifacial and TopCon solar modules, which guarantee increased efficiency and adaptability for a variety of project types. These leadership in the C&I sector is strengthened by innovations, which allow us to meet complex energy demands and future-proof our solutions for scalability and sustainability over the long run.

What significant performance benchmarks and objectives for market penetration has it set for the upcoming 12 to 18 months?

The goal is to increase our footprint by creating solar parks and starting a number of open-access solar projects over the course of the next 12 to 18 months. The goal of these programs is to give commercial and industrial customers access to large-scale, renewable energy sources. Becoming the go-to long-term sustainability partner for businesses in all industries is our strategic goal. We are focusing on operational excellence, strengthening industry partnerships, and creating a future-ready energy platform that significantly supports India’s green energy transformation in order to accomplish this in a sustainable manner.
