TS sees 73.5% increase in public boozing

Public boozing in Telangana increased in 2022 to as much as 73.5percent. About 2.86lakh cases of public boozing were booked in 2022 compared to 1.64lakh cases in 2021. 3.5lakh case of public nuisance in 2022 were booked against 2.28lakh in 2021. Among petty cases 61468 cases of staying beyond time were book and 56561 sound pollution cases were booked.

Eve-teasing cases increased to 7572 in 2022 compared to 7016 in 2021.

1.74crore traffic enforcement cases booked in 2022 of which 70% of cases i.e. 1.34crore were booked in non-contact mode. 19,456 road accidents occurred and 6746people lost their lives and 18316 people were injured. There was also a rise in fatalities due to road accidents this year. A total of 6746 people died in road accidents in 2022 as against 6690 fatalities last year. Nearly 1.65crore MV cases have been booked in 2022.

TS police have registered one crore 65 lakh 84 thousand cases under the Motor Vehicle Act. We imposed a fine of 612 crore rupees on those who violated the traffic rules.

There are 10 lakh 25000 CC cameras across the state. This year, we have installed 1.75lakh new CC cameras,” said the DGP. 24,127 robbery cases were reported in 2022 and Rs 148 crores was stolen and we recovered 74 crores.

DGP Mahender Reddy during year end round up said that 4lakh passport verifications were completed and the process was brought down to 4days with 100% submission.

The DGP said that Telangana Police is working on the principle of extending one state, one service and one experience to all citizens across the State.
