As many as 35 murders took place in the Palnadu district during the year 2022 of which 32 cases were cracked.
Addressing an annual press meet here Friday, SP Ravi Shankar Reddy said that road accidents came down by 11 percent and accident deaths by 13 per cent during the year. He said that three murders for gain took place of which Rs 7.14 lakh was recovered.
The SP said that in the property lost incidents, Rs 5,55.12,725 was recovered out of the total stolen amount Rs 6,28,52,339. He said that 11 persons were arrested in 2 cricket betting cases and seized Rs 10,650, one laptop, and five mobile phones. The police in the year 2022, seized Rs 82,58,156 worth of banned tobacco products and arrested 163 accused in 98 cases.
The police in the year 2022 seized 6,55,952 KGs of PDS rice and arrested 102 persons in 39 cases. Additional SP (Admin) G Bindumadhav, Additional SP (AR) Ramachandra Raju, and DSP Vijaybhaskar Rao were among those who were present.
