Parties pin hopes on youth, middle-aged

The next few days will witness intense activity to woo you and middle-aged voters in the coming General Elections – 2024. Garnering youth support seems to be the main focus of parties which have lined up a series of programmes in this direction.

According to reports, there are about 1.5 crore young and middle-aged voters across Andhra Pradesh and the political parties are wooing them with various programmes involving them for the coming elections.

After TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh announced 4,000 km ‘Padayatra’ that commences by the end of this month giving priority, Jana Sena Party (JSP) chief Pawan Kalyan who has a good fan following among the youth has announced ‘Yuva Shakti’ programme on January 12, birth anniversary of Swamy Vivekananda (Youth Day).

As part of the ‘Yuva Shakti’ programme, the JSP leadership is making arrangements for a massive gathering of the youth of North Andhra. The youth will be taking part in the programme that will discuss various issues being faced by the youth as the North Andhra districts are backward and people are migrating to other places for their livelihood to date.

The Yuva Shakti programme will have a wide range of debates and discussions on the burning issues faced by the youth like unemployment, education, and migration besides businesses, projects and other issues.

The JSP has given a call for the youth to participate in large numbers in the programme, the youth will be given free hand to talk and decide what kind of initiatives and policies should be taken in their areas for the future.

A few days back, the JSP chief Pawan Kalyan released a poster pertaining to the Yuva Shakti programme and said the programme will be organized under the aegis of JSP in a big way with the inspiration of Swamy Vivekananda.He said the youth are the backbone of the Nation, and India has the highest youth population in the world.North Andhra youth are migrating to other places for employment and education. About 100 youth including politicians and others will share the stage with Pawan Kalyan and express their views on the occasion.

Speaking to The Pioneer, JSP Political Affairs Committee Chairman Nadendla Manohar said that all arrangements are being made for the Yuva Shakti programme on the Ranastalam – Cheepurupalli highway. A huge dais will be arranged and 100 youths will be invited to speak about their problems. He said that 25 acres of open land are being taken for the programme and 10 acres is meant for parking vehicles.

He said that they are expecting about 25,000 people for the programme and police permission has been taken for the programme. Cultural programmes, traditional dances depicting North Andhra tradition and other programmes are being organised, said Manohar.
