The boys’ and mixed teams of hosts Andhra Pradesh won the compound championship while Tamil Nadu bagged the girls’ title in the NTPC–Cherukuri Lenin–Volga Memorial 13th Mini (under-14) and Fifth Kids (under-9) Archery Nationals conducted at the Velagapudi Ramakrishna Siddhartha Engineering College, Kanuru, in Krishna district.
While the Andhra Pradesh girls stood in second place in the team event, Magapu Suhas and Madala Surya Hamsini won gold medals in compound boys’ and girls’ segments, respectively.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan and Maharashtra archers excelled in the Recurve events. They won gold medals in boys’ and girls’ sections, respectively.
In the compound boys’ section, the AP team comprising Magapu Suhas, Kudapa Venkata Pradhumna, E Sai Radha Krishna Murthy and Pallapu Sathwik scored 220 points and won the gold medal. Tamil Nadu stood in second place scoring 217 points and Manipur bagged third place by scoring 208 points. In the girls’ category, Tamil Nadu (212) won gold, Andhra Pradesh (211) won silver medal and Maharashtra (221) won bronze medal.
