The students of Dr. BR Ambedkar Social Welfare Girls’ Gurukul School located at Ramakrishnapuram in Sattenapalli fell ill due to suspected food poisoning on Monday.
According to official sources, about 130 girl-students had food in the residential school and some of them developed vomiting and motions. About 30 students were taken to the Area Hospital in Sattenapalli and they were provided treatment.
Some of them are undergoing treatment in the hospital. The doctors at the hospital said all the students were out of danger. Joint Collector Shyam Prasad, RDO Rajakumari and DSP Adinarayana visited the girl students.
Local MLA and Minister for Irrigation Ambati Rambabu spoke to the doctors of the hospital and directed them to provide the best treatment to the affected girl students. He instructed RDO Rajakumari to conduct an inquiry into the incident.
