A special Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court on Monday rejected the bail applications of the three accused persons in the TRS MLAs’ poaching case.
The lawyer representing the police argued that the investigation is still in progress and granting bail to the accused will prevent the police from conducting further investigation. All the accused persons are currently in Chanchalguda Jail. On November 11, the lawyer of the accused filed a bail plea and asked the ACB judge to declare the case invalid while the police argued that they needed more time for investigation.
The accused, Ramchandra Bharathi, Simhayaji Swamy and Nanda Kumar were arrested on October 26 after Tandur MLA Pilot Rohit Reddy filed a complaint with the Moinabad Police Station alleging that the three were trying to lure them into changing their political parties for money. Considering the sensitivity of the case, the government had constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) on November 9. The team interrogated the accused for two days after which their judicial custody ended.
