Ever since the immense success of Meet Cute, Adah Sharma is scaling even more newer heights of popularity. This becomes conclusive with five projects in the titular role in the pipeline waiting to release for Adah.

Amid the releases, in an exclusive tete-e-tete with us, she talks in length about her upcoming films and experience of working in T-town. She said that it’s the character, the story, and the team you are working with, which makes the difference. So, when talking to the adorable actress and this wasn’t our first interview with Adah, she supposes, “Whenever we are shooting, we actors are making a family on the sets of our project. It lasts for a lifetime. Gradually, we go on to our next family. By now you must have understood that I am talking about the cast and crew. In such situations as an actor, I love to spread jubilation. I have five films up for release and each one of them is imprinted in my mind. The genres differ too, which makes me feel lucky that at least I am not being typecasted.”

Sometimes, moments are very intense and so is the shooting. Something similar happened with Adah, which was not only anxiety-inducing but it was sort of physically taxing for her too.

She explains it to us, “So whenever I am not shooting I go back to my hotel and just relax. When the movie schedule is over and I am home, you see me playing piano or the flute. I start binge-watching too! I go meet animals (she bursts into laughter). Actually, was filming for The Kerala Story when I started to hang out with the elephants. My joy didn’t last for long because my next project was calling me which was Commando’s sequel. Had my superhero moments on the sets. Action scenes are not made up, I am looking like one of the boys. From aspects like being surrounded by nature to shooting with guns was a drastic change for me. But, I want my fans to see me in both avatars. I cannot announce the details of my third project but I am sure my fandom is going to be blown away. I’m playing a very glamorous role, and even while speaking to you right now can’t contain my excitement. Not exaggerating, for The Kerala Story, I had zero makeup on and when I jump into my third project I am wearing red nail polish! Not just this, had a total transformation in my dialect too. From Malayali to Hyderabadi, I was everywhere. Even location-wise, I probably must have toured the whole of India for all these films.”

Known to many, that she is holding a very stable ground these days, we dug up a little more with her and understood, “I started with a horror genre, and nobody knew me before that. I was only known to be an established model in the industry! When the first time viewers saw me, I was in an Anglo-Indian look. And then my debut film demanded me to be in the possessed appearance. You know the scary eyes and the messy teeth. Viewers assumed that it is my original look although I had a lot of makeup on. I was looking a little older than my age on screen and even somewhat a little bit of a foreigner. Excuse me, I don’t wake up looking like that. On the contrary note, I was happy to be able to convince them. But what just happened? I started to only receive horror films! I can do any genre. Even if I am doing a short film or a music video, I try to stand out. That’s just my personality.”

It also reflects on her social media presence. “Because, social media has no policing for us, I can be myself. With our movies, we reach out to our fans through the scripts that are written for us but it’s not the same case on social media. We own it! The director is telling you how to chase the line, the stylist is giving you clothes because I am playing somebody else.”

On a final note, we count on the realisations that she has had in this industry, such as, “Media has become a power where audiences have started to listen to as women. Actresses have really got a voice in this industry now! But don’t misunderstand this drop in the ocean, because this is just the beginning. Actresses should use the platform with even more responsibility now. For a change, we are not being hushed. More so, women should support other women. There are enough men to pull you down in the industry. As soon as I see one actress b* about another, I just can’t take it.” This means you can picture Adah as someone who’s quick to send a smile your way!
