Three persons of a family, including a three-old-girl, drowned in a tank at Wargla in Siddipet district on Thursday.
The deceased, who hailed from Hyderabad, were identified as Sheik Kalid (30), his three-year-old nephew and his cousin Mohammad Sohail (17).
According to police, the three-year-old child, who was left on the bund of the tank, fell into the tank while playing with a mobile phone, while the elders were busy taking selfies with their mobile phones.
When they saw the child fall into the tank, Khalid and Sohail jumped into the tank to rescue their child. As they did not know swimming, they too drowned in the tank, the police said.
The police registered a case.
