TPCC President Revanth Reddy said that the motto guiding the Congress is the future of youth. He expressed sorrow at unemployed people committing suicide as the hopes of the Telangana movement have not been fulfilled.

Revanth was addressing the Yuva Sangharshan Sabha organised by the Congress at Saroor Nagar Stadium on Monday.

He said that Priyanka Gandhi came to support us and that the universities in Telangana are the symbols of self-respect.

He said that by raising the slogan ‘Our State – Our Jobs,’ the youth of Telangana suffered beatings with police batons and sacrificed their lives.

Revanth said the number of government employees in United AP was 12.50 lakhs. After the partition, 5.30 lakh employees were allotted to Telangana.

He said that KCR had said in the Assembly that after the formation of Telangana 1.07 lakh posts will be filled. According to the Biswal Committee report, there are two lakh job vacancies. Youth will not get justice under KCR’s rule. That is why Priyanka came here to support the unemployed, he said.

The Hyderabad Youth Declaration was announced to explain what the Congress is going to do for the unemployed and students if it comes to power. Revanth said that five points were mentioned in the declaration.

He announced in the presence of Priyanka that if the Congress comes to power, these promises will be fulfilled.

The declaration said that those who fought for Telangana will be recognised as freedom fighters and a job will be given to a member of their families. He said that they will be given an honorary pension of Rs 25,000. All cases against Telangana fighters will be withdrawn.

The declaration promised to fill 2 lakh vacancies within a year of the Congress coming to power. A job calendar will also be released every year. Notifications will be issued on June 2 and appointments will be done by September 17, he said.

An unemployment allowance of Rs 4,000 will be paid to the unemployed. The TSPSC has become a rehabilitation centre for the politically unemployed. Online registration will be arranged for filling up jobs. A skill development centre will be established in every district, he said.

Revanth paid homage to the statue of Srikanta Chari at LB Nagar before the Saroor Nagar Sabha started. Chari is the first martyr of the Telangana movement’s second phase.
