Depending on the results of the Karnataka Assembly elections, the BJP and the BRS may change their strategies in the Telangana Assembly elections.
It may be correct or not, but there is a strong impression among political observers that the Karnataka Assembly results will impact the Telangana Assembly elections. Political observers think that based on the Karnataka election results the BJP may change its approach in Telangana.
If the BJP wins in Karnataka it will give a boost to the BJP’s leadership as well as its Telangana unit. If the BJP wins in Karnataka it will intensify its aggressive moves against the BRS. The BJP-led Central Government may create more hurdles for the BRS in administrative matters too.
The Centre will activate its investigation agencies against BRS leaders before the Telangana elections. The BJP will also use utilise every opportunity to corner the BRS.
But if the BJP is defeated in Karnataka it may slow down its aggression towards the BRS. Political circles think that the BJP may rethink using Central agencies against BRS leaders.
There is a strong opinion among the public that the Centre is using its investigative agencies for political purposes to crack down on the opposition and that may affect the BJP negatively in the Telangana elections. Keeping this in view, the Centre may slow down the moves of Central agencies in Telangana.
Meanwhile, the BRS is also keeping an eye on Karnataka election results to change its strategy against the BJP. If the BJP is defeated in Karnataka the BRS will move aggressively against the BJP.
The defeat in Karnataka will demoralise the BJP and the BRS would utilise the opportunity. The BRS will start the campaign that the downfall of the BJP has started from Karnataka.
If the BJP wins Karnataka, the BRS will say that the BJP which is in power in Karnataka and at the Centre misused its authority to win. The BRS will also say that the BJP has no presence in Telangana and that it is only a paper tiger. It can also say that the era of the BJP and the Congress is ending and that the people of Telangana have confidence in the BRS.
Meanwhile, the Congress thinks that if it wins in Karnataka it will further boost its chances in the Telangana elections.
