Officials keeping TS-bPASS applications pending to penalised

Government will penalise officials who are keeping the TS-bPASS applications pending.

 A penalty of Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000 would be imposed on officials if in verification it is known that two Municipal Commissioners and 11 scrutiny officers have delayed the process of TS-bPASS applications.

The Government has enacted TS-bPASS Act 2020 for getting hassle-free building permissions through online and to facilitate building approval process to citizens in an objective and time-bound manner. It has come to the notice of the Government that there is an extreme delay by some of the officers in processing of applications in the Municipalities or Municipal Corporations. Accordingly, to maintain the spirit of TS-bPASS Act 2020, the Government is verifying the pendency of TS-bPASS applications from time to time and observed that there is an extreme delay by the 13 officials.

District Collector’s were instructed to impose a penalty of Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000 on each official who has delayed the process of TS-bPASS applications. The Government is reviewing the performance of the officials regularly and imposing penalties on erring officials.

So far penalties have been levied 10 times since the commencement of TS-bPASS in the year 2020 and a total of 103 officials have been penalised. The Government also advised the District Collectors to review the approval process under TS-bPASS more frequently so that delays do not occur in future.
