A man strangled his wife to death in a fit of rage after she refused to engage in sexual activity with him. The details of the crime emerged when the autopsy report confirmed the cause of death. The police managed to solve the case 10 days after the crime occurred. The accused, Jatavath Tarun (24), admitted to the police that he had strangled his wife, Jhansi (20), following her refusal.

Originally from Nagarkurnool district, the couple had entered into a love marriage in 2021. Tarun worked as an auto-rickshaw driver and had moved to Hyderabad with his wife and their family resided in Khaja Bagh in the IS Sadan division. The couple have a two-year-old son, and Jhansi had given birth to a daughter on April 16.

According to Tarun’s statement to the police, on the night of May 20, he expressed his desire to engage in sexual activity. However, Jhansi informed him that she was too tired. Despite her refusal, Tarun persisted and began to force himself upon her. When Jhansi started shouting, Tarun covered her mouth with his hand. This act resulted in a lack of oxygen, causing her to lose consciousness and foam at the mouth. Panicked by the situation, Tarun alerted his relatives, who rushed Jhansi to Owaisi Hospital. However, the doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival.

The police transferred the body to the Osmania General Hospital for an autopsy. Initially, Tarun remained silent about the cause of his wife’s death. However, based on a complaint filed by Jhansi’s father, Nenavath Rekiya, a case was registered at Saidabad police station. It was only during further questioning by the police that Tarun confessed to the crime. Consequently, the police arrested him, and he was subsequently remanded to judicial custody.
