Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, has virtually launched the month-long ‘Jagananna Suraksha’ programme aimed at enrolling all eligible beneficiaries into welfare schemes and addressing people’s grievances through the ‘Jaganannaku Chebudam’ platform. The programme, which is part of a massive public outreach initiative, will cover 1.6 crore families across 15,004 village and ward secretariats in the State, ensuring convenient access to government services and welfare schemes for approximately 5.3 crore citizens.

During the programme’s inauguration at the Camp Office in Vijayawada on Friday, the Chief Minister said that ‘Jagananna Suraksha’ would assist eligible beneficiaries throughout the process, from enrollment to the delivery of welfare benefits. He highlighted the transparent and corruption-free nature of the administration’s services provided through secretariats, contrasting it with the practices of the previous government, which had subjected people to harassment and bribery when seeking welfare benefits. The Chief Minister reaffirmed that eligibility alone would determine the extension of benefits. Over the past four years, eligible individuals from various backgrounds have received welfare benefits worth Rs 3.10 lakh crore through the ‘Navaratnalu’ scheme, including Rs 2.16 lakh crore through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) welfare schemes.

This transparent approach has successfully ushered in a true sense of Grama Swaraj. The Chief Minister stated with confidence that 98 to 99% of eligible individuals are already receiving welfare benefits. However, there may still be some people left uncovered due to various reasons, even after grievance redressal through ‘Jaganannaku Chebudam’. The Chief Minister assured that ‘Jagananna Suraksha’ would effectively address these remaining grievances.

Beginning on July 1, ‘Suraksha’ camps will be conducted at the mandal level, where volunteers, secretariat conveners, ‘Gruhasaradhulu’, public representatives, and other enthusiasts will visit families to identify individuals who have been left out of welfare schemes despite being eligible. District Collectors and other senior officials will oversee these camps, with the participation of various officials at different levels, ensuring comprehensive coverage. The Chief Minister said that these camps would not only resolve welfare scheme-related issues but also address complaints regarding non-receipt of 11 types of certificates, including marriage, birth, death, caste, income, and ration cards.

During a virtual interaction with the Chief Minister, District Collectors provided details about the steps being taken to ensure the successful implementation of this outreach program. The Chief Minister instructed them to make necessary arrangements at the camps to minimize any inconvenience to the people.

Deputy Chief Minister (Panchayat Raj & Rural Development) B Mutyala Naidu, Revenue Minister D Prasada Rao, Education Minister Botsa Satyanarayana, Municipal Administration Minister Audimulapu Suresh, Chief Secretary KS Jawahar Reddy, DGP KVV Rajendranath Reddy, Special Chief Secretaries Ajay Jain (Housing) and Gopalakrishna Dwivedi (Agriculture), Civil Supplies Secretary H Arun Kumar, CCLA Secretary Imtiaz, Housing Corporation MD Lakshmi Shah, Municipal Administration Commissioner P Koteswara Rao, Panchayat Raj Commissioner A Surya Kumari, Additional Director of Village and Ward Secretariats Bhavana, and other senior officials were present.
