The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) has announced the release of Rs 240 crore for the payment of annual leases to farmers who parted with their lands for the construction of the State’s capital.

Disclosing this at a press conference here on Saturday, APCRDA Commissioner Vivek Yadav said that the APCRDA had already submitted proposals to the government, requesting a total of Rs. 156.24 crore to be allocated for the annual leases of 20,890 farmers, covering 24,149 acres of land. Regrettably, the government has only disbursed Rs. 120.56 crore, which pertains to 18,755 acres of land owned by 26,395 farmers. This amount has been successfully uploaded into the CFMS system, Yadav confirmed.

To address this shortfall, the CRDA has initiated the necessary procedures to ensure that the remaining land lease amounts are paid to the deserving farmers before the end of June.

Yadav commended the efforts of CRDA Additional Commissioner Katta Simhachalam and Special Deputy Collector (Land Affairs) T Chiranjeevi, who are actively working towards the prompt disbursement of the annual lease payments.

The APCRDA’s commitment to compensating farmers for their invaluable contributions underscores the government’s dedication to the welfare of its citizens. By facilitating these payments, the authority aims to acknowledge the sacrifices made by farmers and maintain a harmonious relationship between the agricultural community and the State’s developmental endeavors.
