People have now realised the false claims of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government, said Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka. He predicted that the people are waiting to elect the Congress party in the next elections.
Bhatti said the BRS government had failed to answer his questions about the quantum of water released, the number of jobs created, and the houses provided to people.Addressing the media at Suryapeta on Sunday, the CLP said that Telangana was achieved after a protracted struggle with an objective to transform people’s lives ensuring water, funds, jobs and houses. But even after about a decade, none of the above aspirations were fulfilled. Yet the TRS leaders became unbelievably wealthy in the same period, he said.
The State government failed to bring any change in the lives of the people for which the State was created and the wealth and resources of the State did not reach them. However, the TRS leaders who came to power thanks to the people’s movement, amassed wealth running into thousands of crores and they built for themselves farmhouses on hundreds of acres, ushering in ‘New ‘Gadi’ culture’, Bhatti noted.
Pointing out the stark contrast in the lives of TRS leaders and people, Bhatti said he posed certain direct questions to Minister for Energy G Jagadish Reddy and Legislative Council Chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy. “I asked them whether the BRS government brought water, how many double bedroom houses were constructed and how many were allotted.
The BRS government promised one job to every household and how many people were given jobs,” Bhatti said. “I will be in the Suryapeta district for some more days and the BRS leaders can still answer my questions with clarity,” he said.
People realised the falsehood in the claims of TRS leaders. People knew that it was the late Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy who constructed the Sripada Yellampally project to impound Godavari water going wastefully into the sea and brought the water to Mid Manair and from there to Lower Manair and released water through Kakatiya canal.
