BRS not on any party’s team, asserts KCR
PNS|Hyderabad
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao dismissed allegations that the BRS is the B-team of the BJP or the Congress.
Speaking at the public meeting held in Sarkoli (Maharashtra) he said, “The Congress says we are the B-team of the BJP and the BJP says we are the A-team of the Congress. We are not any party’s team. We are the team for farmers, Dalits, Backward Classes, the poor and the downtrodden. Why are other parties rattled by us. It’s just four months since we entered Maharashtra?”
KCR asked how the BRS can become a team of another party when 70 crore farmers are with it?
KCR had arrived in Maharashtra’s Solapur district for a two-day pilgrimage to Pandharpur and prayed to Vittal Rukmini Swamy on Monday accompanied by his Cabinet colleagues, elected public representatives and BRS office bearers. He visited Tuljapur and prayed to goddess Tulja Bhavani.
“They say that one should have darshan of God but not to do politics. I did not say anything even though journalists asked me in various ways near the temple. But here I must speak. We have just started our journey. Why are other parties angry with us? Why are they afraid? Around 60 per cent of farmers and workers are declaring their support for the BRS and other political parties are making strange comments,” KCR said.
At a time when the Congress and the BJP want to scrap the Dharani Portal of Telangana, KCR said that if you are sincere about Digital India, implement Dharani Portal and digitise land records in Maharashtra. “The Centre launched Digital India. If Digital India is right then why not provide this facility for Maharashtra farmers? When the Telangana government is implementing why are you not implementing? Protect people from irregularities in the revenue system. But no one is saying these words. We are keeping records safe through the Dharani Portal to prevent the manipulation of land records. Ask your leaders why you are not implementing these schemes implemented by KCR,” he said.
He said that Bhagirath Balke will move the waters of Chandrabhaga to Mangalwad in coming days.
“Why programmes implemented in Telangana cannot be implemented in Maharashtra? What is missing in this state? Leaders said if schemes and programmes implemented in Telangana are implemented here, Maharashtra will go bankrupt. It is true that bankruptcy is the only way to go. Politicians go bankrupt. People celebrate Diwali,” he said.
He said that some people are raising questions to mislead the public. “The BRS is on a mission to change the course of India and transform India. It is a national party,” he said.
KCR said that BRS is not limited to Telangana and Maharashtra. All these problems will be solved if a farmers’ government is formed. In Karnataka, the BJP government was replaced by the Congress government. What has changed? Change is possible only when people start winning elections. Work for them should start from the day after the elections. This is a very important thing,” he said.
‘I always say “Kisan jeega to kaun maroga, Kisan marega to kaun jeega (If the farmer lives who dies, if the farmer dies who lives).”
“In the US, the people corrected the mistake by electing Barack Obama, a black as the President. This kind of change should come in India too. Dalits should be helped. We have to do it ourselves. This is the duty of our country,” he said.
“If a young leader like Bhagirath Balke wins from the BRS, he will have the opportunity to become a minister and occupy many other high posts. The progress of Balke is linked to the progress of Pandharpur constituency as well as the whole of Maharashtra,” he said.
