Confident of coming to power, BRS leaders have started promising things that they would fulfil in their next term. BRS leaders blame the Centre and the Covid-19 pandemic for unfulfilled promises. BRS leaders said that due to the Covid-19 pandemic Telangana faced suffered a loss of Rs 1,000 billion.
If the BRS comes to power, a new Assembly building will be constructed and twin towers will come up. The government is considering Pattigadda Adarsh Nagar for the twin towers.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao recently promised that the Hayathnagar to Patancheru Metro would be sanctioned in the first cabinet meeting after polls. On Thursday, KTR said the Hyderabad Metro would be expanded and will cover 250 km.
He also promised a slew of initiatives that would be launched during the next term. He said that Hyderabad in future would have an airport express in 2 to 3 years.
The Chief Minister’s aim is to bring an Education City, a Sports City and a Film City to Ghatkesar. “We wanted to do Musi beautification in this term, but couldn’t do it. Definitely, we will beautify it in our next term.”
Stating that State had asked for 150 acres of Defence land in the Cantonment area KTR said, “If in 2024 we get a Union Government which is favourable to us we will construct two skyways of 18.5 km, from JBS to Turkapally and Patny to Kandlakoya. This will have an embedded metro for future expansion.”
There are 3700 RTC buses now and in the first phase, 1,000 EV buses will be launched. The remaining will be phased out. In future all buses will be electric, KTR said. KTR said the government gave only Rs 1,000 crore for SNDP due to other priorities. “We will work on it. By September, Hyderabad will be the first city to have 100 per cent sewage treatment facilities.”
KTR said that in the next term, the government will consolidate the life sciences, IT and aerospace industries.“The world’s largest Pharma cluster will be built and the Genome Valley will be expanded. IT will be moved to Budwel and Eastern part. We made some attempts which were partly unsuccessful,” he said.
KTR said that in Tier-2 cities the government wanted to create 50,000 jobs. We created 12,000 jobs. We will do that as well, he added.
