Will mobilise 15 lakh people: Sanjay

PNS|Hyderabad

The BJP will create history by mobilising nearly 15 lakh people for the public meeting being addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hanamkonda at 9 am on July 8, BJP Telangana unit president Bandi Sanjay said on Sunday.

Addressing a preparatory meeting at the SV Convention Hall at the NGOs’ Colony in Hanamkonda to discuss arrangements for the Prime Minister’s public meeting, Sanjay said the meeting – named ‘Vijay Sankalp Sabha’ – would blow the conch from Warangal for the next Assembly elections.

“When the Congress, which has virtually no existence in the state, can mobilise lakhs of people for Rahul Gandhi’s meeting at the Arts College grounds, the BJP, which is the only alternative to the BRS can easily mobilise 15 lakh people for the Prime Minister’s meeting,” he said. Describing the Congress as a provision shop, Sanjay said that KCR was treating it like a shopping mall, as it had acquired costly material.

“Whatever might be the cost of the material, KCR can purchase it as he has no shortage of money,” he said.

Calling upon party workers to extend a rousing welcome to Modi at Warangal, the land of sacrifices, as he is visiting for the first time, Sanjay said the meeting would display the unity and strength of the party at the national level.

“Modi has the highest regard for the BJP workers of Telangana. He patted my back and appreciated my efforts and the fighting spirit of our workers. We shall keep up his faith in us,” he said.

Stating that the BJP is the only alternative to the BRS, Sanjay recalled how the party had grown from strength to strength in every election, right from Dubbak to the GHMC to MLC elections. “The Congress, which lost its deposits in every by-election has no place in Telangana. Now, attempts are being made to inject some life into the otherwise dead party,” he said.

He said that the BRS and the Congress had joined hands both inside and outside Parliament to defeat the BJP, as they realised that they could not fight the BJP on their own. “But the people are with us and they will vote for us. Even Intelligence reports have confirmed it,” he said.

He accused KCR of trying to divert public attention by making false allegations against the Modi government. While the Centre is ready to release funds for development projects in the state, the KCR government is not cooperating fearing that it would bring a good name to the BJP, he said.

Sanjay assured that those who work hard for making the Prime Minister’s meeting a grand success would get due recognition.
