Dwaraka Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple, a popular pilgrimage centre in Eluru district, received a huge income from the hundi. Temple executive officer Vendra Trinadha Rao said that in the last 36 days, the temple has earned Rs 3.70 crore through hundis.
The hundi counting was held at the premises of Pramoda Kalyana Mandapam at Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Dwaraka Tirumala on Thursday morning. Temple EO Trinadha Rao and other officials , staff participated in the counting, which took place amidst tight security arrangements.
The EO said that in the counting of these hundis, the swami earned Rs 3,70,46,060 as revenue.
