In a new development the state government has given green signal to another 14,565 engineering seats in Telangana.
Earlier, the engineering colleges have sought permission for seats in computer courses, stating that they will give back seats in other core groups. With this, the government has given permission for 6,930 seats.
The government has also approved 7,635 new engineering seats. As a result, with the additional seats, the government will incur an annual cost of Rs 27.39 crore.
The government has sanctioned 86,106 engineering seats recently, taking the number of engineering seats in the state to 1,00,671 with the latest approvals. The first web option will be available on July 8.
