Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao held a high-level review meeting on the adjustment of VRAs and VAOs and the regularisation of Panchayat Secretaries.
The CM decided to induct VRAs (Village Revenue Assistants) in other departments like Irrigation according to their educational qualifications. In this context, the CM asked officials to meet VRAs, collect their views and act accordingly. For this, KCR set up a ministerial sub-committee comprising Ministers G. Jagadish Reddy and Satyavati Rathod under Industries Minister KT Rama Rao.
As per the directives of KCR, the ministerial sub-committee will start talks with VRAs from Wednesday. After the discussions, the CM will direct Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari to use the services of the VRAs who have not taken any decision as per instructions of the sub-committee.
KCR said that after the work of the sub-committee is complete and its final report prepared, they will take a final decision. The CM said that the process should be completed within a week.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said that the role of panchayat secretaries in the development of Telangana villages is commendable. He said that their efforts contributed in the winning of national awards by Telangana villages competing with villages across the country.
The CM hoped that panchayat secretaries would not be complacent with what they have achieved, and that they would make continuous efforts to bring about a qualitative change in Telangana villages with the cooperation of the people.
In this context, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao decided to regularise the jobs of panchayat secretaries who have completed their four-year training period and examine their performance as per prescribed rules. A high-level review meeting was held at the Secretariat on Tuesday regarding this.
Panchayat secretaries are responsible for maintaining cleanliness in villages. The state government has made it mandatory for them to take up various responsibilities like planting saplings and monitoring them.
In this context, the committee formed at the district level will examine secretaries who have completed their probation period. It was decided at the high-level meeting to regularize those who have reached two-thirds of the targets set by the committee. Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari, Panchayat Raj Principal Secretary Sandeep Sultania and Commissioner Hanmantha Rao have been ordered by the CM to take steps regarding this.
With the government sanctioning a medical college near Qutbhullapur constituency, better medical services will be available to the people of Seri Lingampally and Kukatpally Assembly constituencies and surrounding areas.
The MLAs representing the three constituencies, namely KP Vivekanand, Arikepudi Gandhi and Madhavaram Krishna Rao met the CM and thanked him at the Secretariat on Tuesday for granting them a medical college.
