-‘Govt ready to place data related to power purchase before public’
-Minister for Power G Jagadish Reddy said that the government would also place power purchase data during Naidu and YSR regimes too before the public

Minister for Energy G Jagadish Reddy on Sunday hit the nail on the head by agreeing to place the data related to free power purchases during 2004-2014 and 2014-2023. He challenged the Congress for a public debate on the issue. He was reacting to the criticism voiced by the Congress leaders. He came down heavily on TPCC president A Revanth Reddy for opposing round-the-clock free power supply to the farm sector.
Speaking at a media conference in Suryapet, the Minister made it very clear that the State government had purchased power from the National Load Despatch Centre (NLDC), which is established by the Union Ministry of Power. The price for purchasing power, too, was fixed by the NLDC only and the State government has no say in the subject, he asserted.
Reacting to a section of the Congress leaders’ demand for log books being maintained in sub-stations, Jagadish Reddy said that he was ready to place the data related to the power supply to the farm sector before the public. The data related to power supply to the farm sector between 2004 and 2014 and 2014 and 2023 would be placed before the public.
Jagadish Reddy also said that the government was ready to place the data related to purchases of power during the Telugu Desam Party and Congress regimes between 1995 and 2004 and 2004 and 2014 before the public and open the debate. While the Telugu Desam Party regime was presided over by N Chandrababu Naidu, Y S Rajasekhara Reddy was the Chief Minister in the Congress regime. Revanth Reddy claimed that Naidu was his former boss and now YSR is his boss.
He challenged the Congress leaders to a public debate on it. But under the BRS government, the farmers in the Aycut got irrigation facilities for 16 consecutive crop seasons after the formation of Telangana State, he said.
Jagadish Reddy wondered whether the All India Congress Committee too held the view that there was no need for free power supply to the farm sector.
The Minister urged the farmers to adopt resolutions at the Rythu Vedikas in their villages that they would not welcome the Congress government which would spread darkness.
