Minister for Panchayat Raj Errabelli Dayakar Rao has come down on TPCC president A Revanth Reddy’s remarks against free power supply to the farm sector. He said the Congress had done injustice to farmers. The Congress regime did not even fail to solve drinking water, irrigation and power problems and thus leaving the farmers in the lurch.

Addressing the farmers of several clusters in Palakurthi mandal here on Tuesday, he said that the Congress high command did not choose to condemn the anti-farmer remarks of Revanth Reddy. It showed the stand taken by Congress on the farming sector. The Congress is a sinking ship.

He exhorted the BRS rank and file and farmers to teach a bitter lesson to Congress. The nation lagged under Congress’s rule. The farmers and people faced trouble with Congress’s rule. The Cong leaders are harping on the same policy. The statements of Congress rulers are detrimental to farmers’ interests, while the party throws its weight behind such leaders, he said.

No other government worked to better the lives of the farmers than the BRS, he said. The land prices in Telangana increased because of the pro-farmer policies of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, he remarked. The CM introduced several schemes to benefit the farmers.

The farmers should confront Revanth Reddy who suggested three hours of uninterrupted power supply to the farming sector as against the present 24×7 power supply.

Several farmers condemned Revanth Reddy’s remarks and limiting power supply to mere three hours a day to the farm sector indicates his lack of understanding of the problems of farmers.

BRS leaders, local people’s representatives, Rytu Samiti coordinators, and farmers, including women farmers, took part in the event.
