A metropolitan Sessions Court on Tuesday sentenced a man to life imprisonment for killing his mother.
The incident dates back to January 9, 2021, when the accused identified as Becanada Santu asked his mother for money. The victim identified as Sangeeta (50) refused to give the money. Agitated over the refusal, Santu killed his mother by stabbing her in the stomach with a knife.
The SR Nagar Police booked a case of murder under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code. Apart from the life imprisonment, the court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on the accused.
