Ganja was seized in Eluru and Chittoor districts by the police and 12 persons were arrested.
In Eluru district, the police arrested a 10-member gang in Jangareddygudem and seized 28 KGs of ganja worth Rs 1.41 lakh. DSP Dhanunjayadu told the media on Tuesday that on a tip the police conducted a raid and seized 28 KGs of ganja and arrested the 10 persons. The police also seized 7 mobile phones and Rs 2500 cash from the gang members. They brought the ganja from Odisha and Chhattisgarh states and were selling them here. The DSP warned of stringent action if anybody indulged in selling or consuming of ganja in the district.
In Chittoor district, CI Kottu Srinivas told the media the police on a tip off conducted checking of vehicles. They found two persons moving on a vehicle suspiciously at Bandapalli in Puthalapattu mandal. The police checked the vehicle and found 1.5 KG of ganja and seized it. The police arrested the two accused Venkatesh and Mohan Babu.
