Collector M Harinarayanan directed the officials to lay focus on land acquisition for the construction of port and for rehabilitation of evacuees. The Collector inspected the port works at Ramayapatnam along with the officials on Wednesday. He saw the layouts for the evacuees at Karlapalem.
At a review meeting the officials explained to the Collector about the ongoing works of the Ramayapatnam port. The Collector along with MLA Maheedhar Reddy reviewed the works.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector directed the officials to complete the R&R package in Avulavaripalem and Mondipalem. The needed infrastructure including drinking water, CC roads, school and Anganvadi centre should be established at the two villages, he told the officials.
He asked the officials to coordinate the port officials and prepare an action plan in this regard. The revenue and port officials should respond to the issue swiftly, he directed them. He asked them to open school at the villages on war footing as the academic year has already been commented on. The Collector said that the port workers are being carried out expeditiously.
“The works for rehabilitation of evacuees are being taken up at a cost of Rs 13.5 crore,” he added. The MLA handed over compensation cheques to the farmers who had given their lands for the construction of road to Ramayapatnam. Joint Collector Kurmanath, sub-collector Sobhika, port MD Pratham Reddy and vice-chairman Nagarjuna and GM Bhimudu were among those who were present.
