The Centre said that there will be no centralised counselling for undergraduate and postgraduate medical courses during the academic year 2023-24.
“No changes have been made in the existing scheme of seat allocation as per various quotas,” said Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya in a written reply to MP Ranjith Reddy.
“The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) conducts counselling for seats of undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (PG) medical courses as per the scheme devised by the Supreme Court,” he said.
He added that counselling for UG covers 15% of all India quota seats, 100% of seats of Central Institutes and Universities and Deemed Universities and 100% of the seats in all Institutes of National Importance (INI).
The counselling for PG courses covers 50% of All India Quota seats and 100% of the seats of Central Institutes/Universities and Deemed Universities. Counselling for State quota seats in UG and PG medical courses is conducted by the respective State Governments.
