Three persons were killed and another critically injured when the car in which they were travelling rammed a stationary milk van at Konanki village in the wee hours on Saturday.
CI Firoz told the media that the deceased Kondapalli Shiva Shankar (38), Nallapaneni Ramakrishna (35) and Veeravalli Venkata Rao (58) were going towards Bollapalli toll plaza in the car.
Their car rammed the stationary milk van in the rear end killing Shiva Shankar and Ramakrishna instantaneously while Venkata Rao died when being shifted to hospital. The driver of the car Anil was critically injured in the accident and the GGH in Guntur. The milk van was stopped on the road as one of the tyres burst.
Bapatla SP Vakul Jindal visited the scene of the accident and inquired with the officials on how the accident took place. He directed the police officials to take steps to enhance patrolling on the highways to prevent road accidents.
