Minister for Health T Harish Rao on Sunday assured the Veera Vysya Balija community that the state government will come to their rescue in all respects.
At a programme of Veera Saiva Balija Samaja Maha Sabha held at Reddy Function Hall in Siddipet, Harish Rao accused the TDP and the Congress of paying no attention to problems of the Balija community. However, KCR, upon coming to power, ordered celebration of Basava Jayanti officially, he said, adding that the government installed Basava’s statue on tank bund at a cost of Rs 1 crore. To build Basava Bhavan in Hyderabad, the government allotted site worth Rs 20 crore. He hinted at building Basava Bhavan in Siddipet too. He appealed to the gathering to emulate the life of the Basaveswara, who fought against discrimination on the basis of caste.
He said that he learnt about Basava Administration in Maharashtra by visiting the state. The BRS government is forging ahead implementing Basaveswara’s ideals.
He pointed out how the government named a LI Scheme after Basaveswara. He assured the gathering to get allotment of land for the burial ground and offered to get a Basava Kalyana Mantap built for the Basavas.
The Maha Sabha resolved to vote unanimously for Harish Rao in the next elections.
