District Superintendent of Police Pulla Karunakar has asked the police personnel and officers to always remain accessible to the people.
After assuming the office of the SP here on Sunday, the new SP assured the people of the district that right from SI to top officials would remain accessible to the people.
Earlier, he inspected a guard of honour presented by the police.
People visiting the police stations seeking justice should not approach mediators for the purpose, he said, expressing readiness of the department 24×7 to serve the people. Within the scope of the law, justice would be rendered to the people. There would be continuous efforts to maintain the law and order, he said, adding that the police would crush the Left wing extremism and anti-social activities with a heavy hand.
Later, the police personnel and officials welcomed the new SP by presenting him with bouquets.
Local DSP A Ramulu, police officials and personnel in the department were present.
