The carcass of a leopard was found in the forest area at Karnalapattu village in Ramakuppam mandal on Tuesday.
The cattle grazers found the carcass of a leopard and informed the forest officials. The forest officials suspect that the leopard died as it got trapped in an electric fence erected by poachers or erected by farmers to protect their crops from wild boars.
After the postmortem, the carcass was buried.
A case was registered and investigation is on.
