A 22-year-old youth allegedly hit his younger sister fatally on her head with a pestle in the heat of the moment at Rajiv Nagar Thanda under Yellandu mandal in the district on July 24. The incident came to light on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Ajmira Sindhu (21). The accused was identified as Harilal. Sindhu completed her Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) course and she was working as an apprentice in the government hospital in Mahabubabad.
Harilal, according to police, used to advise his sister not to make videos and post them on social media platforms. Undeterred by the warning by her brother, Sindhu continued to make videos and upload them on social media platforms.
An argument broke out between the brother and his sister over social media posts on July 24. It soon turned ugly. In the heat of the moment, Harilal hit his sister on the head with a pestle. Sidhu died on the way to the hospital.
Based on the complaint filed by Sindhu’s mother, the police registered a murder case.
The police said the duo had heated arguments several times over social media posts.
According to villagers, Harilal tried to project the murder of his sister as a natural death. After the murder, he fled the home.
