An elderly couple were found murdered at Rythu Nagar under Bikur mandal in the district on Tuesday night.
The deceased were identified as Narayana and Sulochana. Narayana had a grocery store.
The assailants, the police suspected, could have gained entry into the house from the rear side. The culprits allegedly beat Nayarana to death, his wife was found hanging from the ceiling in the hall. The incident came to light when the neighbours found the elderly couple dead inside the house.
