Govt committed to implementing welfare schemes: Minister

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has made it very clear that developmental and welfare activities should be carried out without any hitch, said Minister for Prohibition and Excise V Srinivas Goud.

He was participating as the chief guest in the distribution of the second phase of the sheep units here on Sunday.

He distributed 18 sheep units were distributed to beneficiaries of Jainallipur, Koduru, and Mochanpalli villages.

Addressing the beneficiaries, he said that the Chief Minister came to the rescue of the caste-based professions. He introduced several welfare schemes for the benefit of the poor.

Once it was a common sight on Sundays that traders used to fetch sheep from other States and sell them in the market. However, upon introducing the sheep units distribution scheme the population of sheep increased locally bringing great change in the lives of Kuruma and Yadava community people.

The credit for providing free education from kindergarten to postgraduation to the children hailing from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes by establishing residential schools should go to the Chief Minister. He said that the government has been supporting the agriculture sector by providing input subsidies to farmers and supplying free round-the-clock power.

He appealed to the beneficiaries of various welfare and development schemes should recognise the efforts of the State government and identify major differences between the past regimes and the present regime.

He came down heavily on the critics of the government for finding fault with everything. The critics were jealous of the government’s popularity, he said.

Zilla Grandhalaya Samstha chairman Rajeshwar Goud, MUDA chairman Ganji Venkanna, Municipal Chairman KC Narsimhulu, PACS chairman Rajeshwar Reddy, assistant director of the animal husbandry department Venkateswarlu and others were present.
