The authorities so far have not taken steps to provide medical treatment to children

The students in the Social Welfare School at Jaipur in the district are in a state of panic with over 400 children being infected with conjunctivitis. There are in all 700 students in the school. The in-charge principal, according to students, failed to ensure that the student get proper medical attention so far.
The students are suffering from symptoms like redness, itchiness, a gritty feeling and tears in both eyes. They are also experiencing painful sensitivity to strong light, according to students.
In fact, a large number of people in the town, too, are reportedly suffering from the virus. The virus spread fast, the doctors said.
As far as the Social Welfare Residential School is concerned, there are complaints against the authorities for a long time. But the district administration has not so far turned its attention to the state of affairs of the school.
There is no regular principal for the school for the last three years. The in-charge principal has allegedly violated the rule that the principal should not leave the school during the rainy season. A permanent health supervisor has not been appointed.
A large number of students in the past took ill due to suspected food poisoning. But the authorities have so far not taken steps to appoint a health supervisor.
There are allegations of women teachers not being treated properly. Some teachers are demanding the district administration pay attention to the state of affairs in the school and set it right.
