Senior journalist TV Subbaiah’s book ‘Melkondi’ was released by Lions Club District Vice Governor VVPS Anjaneyulu at the Press Club at Gandhinagar in Vijayawada on Thursday. Anjaneyulu said that Subbaiah’s book would create awareness on the environment and recommended that everyone read it.
Guest faculty at Acharya Nagarjuna University Sk Rehman introduced the book and said that Subbaiah wrote the book ‘Melkondi’ after making a detailed study on the pollution caused by industries. TV Subbaiah, in his address, said that countries were doing very little to decrease the problem of pollution.
The government should take steps to create awareness on pollution from schools. The government decided to ban plastic in 1995, however, due to lack of commitment, none of the governments implemented the decision, he added.
