Jana Sena chief K Pawan Kalyan condemned the attack on a priest at Pancharama Kshetras by a YSRCP leader.

In a statement here on Wednesday, Pawan Kalyan deplored that a YSRCP leader thrashed a priest of Bhimavaram Sri Someshwara Swamy temple. The YSRCP leader snapped the sacred thread called ‘Yagnopavitam’. The incident reflects the arrogance of the YSRCP leader and stands testimony to the anarchy of the ruling party leaders.

“YSRCP leader and temple board chairman’s husband Yugandhar assaulted assistant priest Pandrangi Nagendra Pawan. The attack on the priest is an attack on Hindu ancient dharma,” Pawan Kalyan flayed.

Pawan Kalyan said that in the Hindu rituals the Yognapavetam is considered to be most sacred. Attacking a priest and troubling the priest who recits Vadas and spends most of the time in the presence of god, is a cruel act. Tranquility should prevail in temples but the YSRCP leaders are creating unrest in temples, he criticized.

The YSRCP regime tried to auction the priests at the famous hill shrine Annavaram but when the JSP raised voice against it the government retreated, Pawan Kalyan pointed out.

“I demand the government to take stringent action against the leader who attacked a priest, snapped his sacred Yognopavitam,” Pawan Kalyan said.

Meanwhile, the Jana Sena party appealed to the cadres not to garland Pawan Kalyan with giant garlands. Pawan Kalya will resume his third phase of Varahi Vijaya Yatra from Visakhapatnam. Keeping in view security reasons, the activists should not try to garland Pawan Kalyan with huge gajamala using cranes.

The activists of JSP should cooperate with the leaders during his Varahi yatra, the JSP appealed to the activists.
