With the Telangana Assembly elections around the corner, the ruling BRS and the main opposition Congress are busy analysing survey reports to find out how many seats they are likely to win, how many seats they will have to fight to win and the number of seats in which they are going to face a tough fight.
Interestingly, both parties strongly believe that they are going to come to power. Top sources said that as per survey reports the BRS is going win 48 of the 119 Assembly seats without any fight from the opposition. In around 35 seats there will be competition from the Congress and the BJP. In around 25 seats the position of the BRS is very critical. As per survey reports the BRS is likely to definitely win 75 to 80 seats.
Meanwhile, the latest survey conducted by the Congress says that in 42 seats the party’s victory is certain. In around 25 seats the Congress has a winning chance if it campaigns hard and in around 35 seats the position of the Congress is critical. The Congress strongly thinks that it can win around 70 seats and come to power.
The fight between the BRS and the Congress is going to be intense in many constituencies. In some constituencies, the fate of the BRS and the Congress depends on the BJP’s performance.
In these constituencies, if the BJP neutralises the Congress, the BRS is likely to win. In places where the BJP is weak, the Congress has a good chance of winning.
In the fight between the BRS and the Congress, the BJP is going to lose some seats. The people think that the BJP has no chance of coming to power and that if they want to change the government they should vote for the Congress as they expect that it will come to power. If people do not want to change the government they will vote for the BRS to defeat the Congress.
The people who want to change the government and those who do not want to change the government look towards the Congress and the BRS and they may not consider the BJP. So the BJP may lose some constituencies it is hoping to win.
