Local MLA Local MLA Vanama Venkateswara Rao distributed BC Bandhu cheques at a programme, organised here on Sunday.
The MLA participated as chief guest and praised Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for introducing several welfare schemes for the welfare of the weaker sections. He distributed BC Bandhu cheques to 300 beneficiaries in the Kothagudem constituency in the first phase.
He said that he would strive to provide financial assistance to another 1,000 beneficiaries in the third instalment. He expressed the opinion that the BC Bandhu scheme would promote the economic empowerment of weaker sections.
District Collector Priyanka Ala said that the BC Bandhu scheme was aimed at promoting the economic development of the people depending on caste-based professions. The scheme would be implemented in instalments, the Collector said.
Municipal Chairperson Kapu Seethalakshmi, State Library Corporation Chairman Dindigala Rajender, ZP Vice-Chairman Kancharla Chandrasekhara Rao, Municipal Vice-Chairman Damodar Councilor Dharmaraju BC Welfare Officer Endira SC Corporation ED Sanjeeva Rao Municipal Commissioner Raghu, MPDOs, public representatives and other officials participated.
