Call to regularise services of outsourcing employees

Telangana State Outsourcing Employees Joint Action Committee sought the abolition of contract system and immediate regularisation of the outsourcing employees.

Thousands of outsourcing employees from various districts of the State assembled at a meeting of the Joint Action Committee held at Karman Ghat on Sunday. They expressed concern that the 2.5 lakh outsourcing employees in the State were being harassed by the agencies by not paying them salaries in time, sometimes for three or four months. They said that 100 outsourcing employees committed suicide unable to bear the family burden.

Joint Action Committee leaders Puli Lakshmaiah, K Santosh, Vinod, Arun Kumar, Narayana, Bindu and others spoke on the occasion.

They sought immediate regularization of their services, provision of regular payment by the government to those who have not completed three years of service and an ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of employees who committed suicide.

They also sought employment to kin of those who died on compassionate grounds and the implementation of PRC from April 2023.

The JAC held its Atmeeya Sammelan at Kottakapu Yadavareddy Gardens in Karman Ghat on Sunday. Thousands of the members of the JAC took part in the event from various districts.

The services of the outsourcing employees who completed three years should be regularised immediately and should be given benefits, including the pay-scale, equal to that of regular employees. They wanted the government to pay the salaries directly for those who did not complete three years.

The meeting demanded payment of compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the bereaved families of outsourced employees who had committed suicide unable to support their families due to irregular payment of salary.

Also, the JAC demanded giving job one of the family members of the bereaved family on compassionate grounds. It demanded the government to extend the new PRC with effect from April this year.

To regularise the services of VRAs, the outsourced employees working in Animal Husbandry Department for the past 15 years have been shown the door in four or five districts.

The local officials told the office subordinates that they need not come to the office as the government allotted large number of VRAs to the department, according to a complaint lodged by the victims with the JAC leades at the Atmeeya Sammelan.

JAC leaders Prasad, Krishna, Goverdhan, Zaheeruddin, Sridhar, Jagadish, Srinadh Goud, Vijayalakshmi, Sunita and others were present.
