Amidst political ripples, the Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) was conspicuously absent from the ‘At Home’ event hosted by the esteemed AP Governor, S Abdul Nazeer, on the commemoration of the 77th Independence Day at the majestic Raj Bhavan on Tuesday. The absence of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and key party figures has ignited fervent discussions within political circles.

In a departure from last year’s scene, not a single TDP leader graced the ‘At Home’ gathering this time around. It’s worth recalling that on August 15, 2022, during the governorship of Biswbhusan Harichandan, a different tableau unfolded, with TDP stalwarts, including Chandrababu Naidu, MP Kesineni Srinivas, TDP AP unit president K Atchannaidu, and Vijayawada MLA Gadde Ramamohan Rao, participating in the event.

Equally surprising, the ‘At Home’ affair also lacked the presence of Jana Sena Party (JSP) supremo Pawan Kalyan and his party compatriots. Notably, Jana Sena forms a crucial political alliance with the BJP, and Pawan Kalyan’s recent attendance at an NDA meeting underlines this affiliation.

In contrast, a distinguished array of political figures graced the occasion, including APCC president Gidugu Rudra Raju, BJP state president D Purandeswari, and left party leader K Ramakrishna.

The ‘At Home’ function, hosted by Andhra Pradesh Governor S Abdul Nazeer at the regal Raj Bhavan to mark the 77th Independence Day, unfolded in an atmosphere of congeniality. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, accompanied by his wife YS Bharathi Reddy, Chief Justice of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur, and his spouse Gudiya Thakur, added grace to the event.

An illustrious assemblage adorned the function, including Thammineni Seetharam, Speaker of AP Legislative Assembly, and esteemed Ministers – Revenue Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao, Housing Minister Jogi Ramesh, and Cinematography and I&PR Minister Ch Venugopala Krishna. The presence of Chairpersons, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, and Judges of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh, along with various other luminaries, including Sportspersons, Padma Awardees, Media personalities, and Freedom Fighters, lent an air of distinction to the gathering.

As the event unfolded, Governor Abdul Nazeer personally extended warm greetings to all the esteemed guests who had graced the ‘At Home’ function, strolling amidst the lush lawns of the Raj Bhavan.
